Schema-only AI

We never see your data.
By design.

SheetApps never copies, stores, or sends your spreadsheet data to AI. Our AI only reads column names and types (e.g. "Revenue" as currency) to generate your dashboard layout. All your actual data stays in Google Sheets, in your Google Drive, under your control.

What does SheetApps AI actually see?

Only your column schema. Names like "Revenue" and types like "currency". Never your actual spreadsheet values.

Your Browser

Renders your data

Your browser fetches data directly from Google Sheets via the API. SheetApps never sees, stores, or proxies your spreadsheet values.

How does SheetApps protect your data?

Four principles built into the architecture, not bolted on after.

Schema-only AI

Our AI reads column names and types to decide which charts and widgets to generate. It never receives your actual cell values. A column called "Revenue" might be detected as currency, but the AI never sees $45,231.

No data storage

We do not copy your spreadsheet data to our servers. Your data stays in Google Sheets, in your Google Drive, under your control. We store only your dashboard layout configuration.

Google OAuth with minimal scope

We use Google OAuth for sign-in and request only the spreadsheets scope. We cannot access your email, Drive files, or any other Google service. You can revoke access anytime.

You stay in control

Stop using SheetApps and your spreadsheet stays exactly as it was. No data to export, no migration needed. Revoke access from your Google Account permissions page at any time.

Frequently asked questions

Does SheetApps store my spreadsheet data?

No. SheetApps never copies or stores your spreadsheet data. All data stays in your Google Sheet. We only read column names and types to generate your dashboard layout.

What does the AI actually see?

Only your schema. Column names like "Revenue" or "Status" and their detected types like "currency" or "text". It never sees actual cell values like "$45,231" or "John Smith".

Can I revoke access?

Yes. Go to your Google Account permissions page (myaccount.google.com/permissions), find SheetApps, and click Remove Access. Your spreadsheet stays exactly as it was.

What Google permissions do you request?

We request the Google Sheets API scope for read and write access to spreadsheets you connect. We do not request access to your Gmail, Drive, Calendar, or any other Google service.

Where is my dashboard configuration stored?

Your dashboard layout (which widgets, chart types, colour scheme) is stored in our database. This is just the layout configuration, not your data. Your actual spreadsheet values are fetched directly from Google Sheets each time you open your app.

Is my data sent to a third-party AI?

Your data is never sent to AI. Only the column schema (names and types) is sent to Claude AI to generate your dashboard layout. The AI decides to show a bar chart for a "Revenue" column without ever seeing the revenue figures.

Privacy-first dashboards from your spreadsheets
